Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by Bruce from mountains on Monday, December 30, 2013These poles are very easy to adjust, even wearing gloves or mittens, & the speedlock mechanism held firmly during a long day of skiing/skating/climbing.
Grips & straps were comfortable for my size 9 or 10 hand but were not particularly comfortable for my wife's small, mittened hand. The poles are slightly heavy but the swing weight was OK
Reviewed by Rick from Jordan, Mn on Monday, December 23, 2013I purchased these poles for snowshoeing and I think they will work perfectly. I had a STP coupon that made the price unbeatable. I have not been able to use them yet but I am sure they will function without problems. I have locked them up and put all my weight on the pole and it holds. Poles are marked at 10cm intervals which makes it easy to remember where you like them if you have collapsed them for travel. They appear to be made of very high quality materials. The graphics are not gaudy and loud. This is a purchase I would make again and would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend.

Question & Answer
“Can Leki extra wide snow baskets be put on these poles? I.e., are all Leki baskets made to fit universally on any Leki poles, or at least backcountry poles? Thanks!”
I took a look at my poles and couldn't really see any way to remove the baskets. Sorry I can not be of more help.
@ rick - so 39" is as small as it gets? I was hoping for something less than 3 feet long, in order to stick in a back pack after converting from skis to splitboard. ...anyone know of a good set of poles that collapse into something shorter? Many thanks!
I want to make a correction to my last answer. The poles will collapse to 39 inches. I to thought I could put them in a pack but it looks like they will get strapped on the side of the pack. They are very nice poles.
The Haute Route have extended foam grips. The Vario does not.
