Leki is known for highest quality, this lives up to the reputation. I have been looking for a monopod for low light photography, especially with long lenses. I typical need the additional camera stability when hiking in the later hours of the day, under a thick canopy or indoors for kid's activities. This is a great multi-purpose tool. My only wish is that it collapsed into four sections to make it more compact.

The trekking pole is as advertised. STP had the best price on the web[...] My main reason for this purchase was to poke around for geocaches under things, and to place a camcorder on top when filming my kids a recitals, swim meets, etc. I haven't done any filming yet, but I suspect I wouldn't have a problem. I used it for the first time yesterday with out difficulty. I don't like the wrist strap, it is about an inch wide piece of nylon with a grommet that goes over the camera mounting screw with the wood knob keeping it in place. The buckle doesn't hold the nylon strap and it kept slipping (letting the strap extend). Plus it is a long strap so there is extra strap past the buckle. But I plan on finding or making a wrist strap that works better. Perhaps a camera wrist strap. Thus the four stars...The directions to switch the anti-shock feature on/off are not very clear. Once I figured it out, I guessed I dialed the anti-shock down enough because the pole doesn't compress as easily as when I recieved it. I haven't turned on the feature and used it yet either. Overall, it was just what I wanted. I am not a serious hiker, just a begginer geocacher that doesn't want to stick my hands into places where the creepies could live.
