    Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
    I like this shovel and will use it to build snow shelters in the backcountry (I just peeled off the fire sticker that someone hated). But I find the telescoping connection a little loose and am in the process of trying to tighten it down a little so the shovel doesn't rattle when it's extended.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I own the lexan lifelink which is really well made. Mine is a little melted from storage under the hood, but works fine. I hoped this onw would be as nice, but in allum. I own a Violle and and BCA traverse shovels and this one does not feel nearly as well made as the other two. It was a pretty good deal, but I would not buy this again.
