This is an awesome knife/ firestarter combo! I feel it is a great secondary blade for any pack. The blade is very sharp and the magnesium alloy rode throws great sparks every time. The price is a wonderful value...definitely shouldn't be disappointed.

A fire knife not made of carbon steel. I know that stainless is easier to take care of but carbon steel holds an edge longer. I have several mora knives and always find it easy to care for them. However the striker works well and I built a fire in just two strikes.

Sheath by itself: Floats
Knife by itself: Sinks
Knife + Fire Steel together: Sinks
Knife+ Fire Steel + Sheath: Sinks
Hope this helps!
