No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I watched this for months and was dying for it to go on sale so I could try it out. Bought it as a gift for my husband and he loved it, except to find that it does not seal properly - the lid leaks, no matter how you tilt it , and always from the same spot. Being silicone, it holds its shape very well, so the problem came with it, and cannot be fixed. It will cost me to send it back, and it is not useable as-is, so I'm not sure what to do with it.
Very disappointed. Glad I bought only one.
