I have to say I didn't even try these on. At the price point I was expecting heavy weight soft shell pants suitable for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and other winter sports. These were thin, stretchy hiking pants; nice, but not what I thought I was getting. Perhaps I should have tried them on for hiking pants; the price point, even at STP, was a bit steep for hiking pants though.

I got these on sale for recreational downhill skiing. Defintely a lavender-grey (greyish with a lavender cast, which I'm wearing with a black soft shell jacket and plum accessories). I'm a size six, but while buttonable, I needed to exchange for the size eight as they are very snug on top (although relaxed in the legs). I like them overall, they're cool and cute and a great buy.

I'm five feet tall and of course had to shorten these pants. But if you're average height, the bottoms have a draw cord in the hem. The waist did come all the way up to my bellybutton. I have a 29 inch waist and 38 inch hips and the size 6 fit nicely. I absolutely love that there is adjustable elastic on the inside of the waist. That way if I gain or lose a few pounds, I can still wear these pants, which helps justify the price. They are definately a fall or winter weight pant, but you'll need a base layer in the snow. My only complaint is that the material does make quite a swish-swish sound when I walk and I'm not sure that will wash out.

Liked the fit of these pants with the wide waistband, but kind of pricey even when on sale. I returned this one and kept the Columbia Gusto pant, which is less money, the same thickness, style and warmth.

NIce pants. great price. Clay color is really odd. It looks like dull lavender in the sunlight. Does not match anything in my wardrobe. Also wish the pockets were not lined with mesh. Prefer mountain hardware's design.
    • Cons: No back pockets, Odd color looks purplish, Zippered pocket too small
    • Pros: Fabric brushed on inside, Flattering trim cut
