Do not purchase these pants for hiking/trekking! I made the mistake of wearing these pants on a five-hour hike. The internal zipper on the pocket on the inside waistband (sized to hold a key or a chapstick) falls right on the hipbone. If you wear these pants with a backpack with waist strap, the strap falls exactly over the zipper. After five hours of hiking, I had a huge welt/bruise from the backpack pushing the zipper into me. Otherwise, these pants are probably fine for casual travel, etc.

These pants are perfect for those trips where you'll be hiking, camping, and climbing, especially in cool weather; or going out to nice restaurants. The fabric is thick but stretchy and breathable. They are stylish and can be dressed up or down. There are two downfalls to these pants: the waist seems to go straight up from the hips and there is a hidden inner pocket that sets right on my hip bone. You can't wear a belt to help the waist fit because then this pocket digs in to your hip and frankly, it hurts. The hidden pocket is also very small and couldn't even fit a credit card. I couldn't find a more versatile pant, though, so off to the tailor they go. Also, I have a 29" inseam and they are a bit long.
