    I ended up using these when I went up to try snowboarding for the first time. They worked excellent, kept my feet dry and warm. They are thin but they worked well with the thick snowboard boots.

    I soaked one in cold water and hung it in the 75 degree bathroom to simulate travel conditions. It was dry in 18 hours, maybe sooner but I was asleep! From the ankle down I think they can't be called "thin," but for hiking the cushion would be helpful. For travel, it just adds to the drying time. I'm definitely liking them.

    These socks seem that they would be very comfortable to wear, ony they are too big. I ordered a size small (my foot size is women's 6-7), and they were too big for me. They were actually a good size for my husband (men's size 9), but were so stretchy that they went up to his mid to upper calf. I did like the nice feel and stretchiness, and wish that they fit me.
