Lowa AL-T Orix Trail Shoes (For Men)

Great hiking shoes for sketchy trails.

I have been a loyal Lowa consumer for 20 years. There are no shoes or boots on the market that compare. Lowa's fit and comfort never miss, no matter what style I wear. I have tried other brands in the past but nothing has come close.

Comfortable shoe that fits my foot very well.

I am using these as my daily shoes, for hiking the cities I travel to...comfy and quality!!

This is my first pair of Lowa shoes and I am already impressed with the build quality. A bit stiff at first, you will need to allow a few days of break-in. Sizing runs a size small - I normally wear a 13 - 13.5 and found the 14 (US) to be a good fit. The initial stiffness of the shoe concerned me but after wearing them around the house the first day, I quickly discovered they need time to conform to my foot. I have had them about two weeks now and wear them everyday in a combination of urban terrain and dry backwoods. I would not suggest wearing them for long periods of cold or wet conditions as they are more of a warm weather shoe, well vented and light - too light for cold winter days. I would definitely recommend them and look forward to having them a long time.

As noted by others these shoes run a little smaller, roughly one-half size, and probably work best for a narrower foot. Lowa is known for quality and these appear to fit that bill as well. Very lightweight and comfortable right out of the box. Will be able to judge better when the weather warms up as they are targeted for warmer weather uses, but was such a good price by STP that went ahead and bought them now.

Second pair of Lowas I have had. First pair I have had for years and even used shoe goo on the soles to keep them going for a few more months. Tops and insoles outlasted the outer soles, but gave me a good 5 years of service.

I hike on rugged mountain trails 25-30 miles per week. My foot is 13.5 and C width so the Lowa in 14 fits me perfectly. It is a little stiffer than a normal trail shoe giving it great stability and hopefully long wear.
