Closeouts. Lowa’s AL-T Orix low-profile trail shoes have a durable, sturdy outsole and supportive midsole that anchors the foot in place so you’ll be sure stepping no matter how unstable the terrain.
these were very bulky and uncomfortable. the ankle support, which may work for some folks depending on dimensions, rubbed the back of my heel and i feared it would blister. this on top of them being rather large and heavy. not for me.

This shoe has been good for my daily hikes. I live in a mountain town and the trails are some what rocky. I have not used them for any long hikes yet. I think they will be good for any terrain.

These shoes are great! I love everything about them. I read that quite a few people think they are too heavy... Then get trail running shoes. These shoes are definitely more for hiking, which usually does not entail running.
The only issue I have is that my pinky toes have rubbed against the shoe while going downhill, which has created blisters a few times. However, I believe this problem is specific to myself and anyone else with weird little pinky toes that are wide and quite short compared to the other ones :)

Just got back from a 14er trip (3 sumits in one day) wearing these shoes. They were great! They did not rub at all and provided excellent support on loose rocks. I could not be happier. With that said, they are hiking shoes and are a bit heavy so don't get if you plan to use them for trail running.
The only comment that I would make is in regard to the insoles. They did slip a bit on occassion when doing the steep descent. It would probably be best to put your own fitted insoles in, as opposed to using the ones that come with this shoe. Such a small issue with an overall great hiking shoe.

I have used Lowa before for hiking and thought I would give them a try for simple walking. There was no break in period. The fit is great and the shoes are comfortable.

Note: These are my first hiking shoes in years. I love them! I am excited about the great fit and comfort. They do feel a bit heavy yet might be only my opinion since it's been awhile for me!

I have been a big fan of Lowa for many years. These are some of the ONLY shoes not made in China, and Lowa's quality is usually unbeatable.
However, this pair did not work for me. I ordered my usual size, NOT a size up as recommended, and they were still too big. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, the heel cup is big. A size smaller would not have worked as the length was mostly ok, the biggest problem was that my heel would not stay in. I have a normal width foot so i'm surprised these work for so many people. I also found the green color to be pretty ugly, too much like a spiderman shoe.

The first time I wore these, I walked two miles in them. They have good support and are comfortable. I do alot of outdoor photography and never know where I'll end up so sturdy footwear is a must. I highly recommend these.

I liked the shoes but they did not fit me well. I realized that a size smaller would not really help because the shoes was just slightly too large. I could see many blisters caused by these shoes in the future so I returned them.
