Lowa AL-X 22 Vented Trail Shoes (For Men)

Fit well and they are very cool no heat build up!

Got these shoes last year and really liked them for wearing at work. Sizing is a slight bit different this year and had to order one half size up. Also, if you order the olive/chrome color, you might get the AL-X Thion instead of the AL-X-22.

Have worn Lowa light weight hiker is both low side and mid. Great quality shoes. I look for ones on sale and then buy 2 at a time.

Very disappointed in this shoe. I ordered the Lowa brand for my husband because they always fit his foot(14). This shoe is not true to size for him

These shoes impressed me. They are remarkably lightweight. They have a sort of stretchy feel that is comfortable but they may feel a bit unstable if you are used to wearing heavier backpacking boots with lots of ankle support. These also have light arch support so insoles may be in order for longer hikes. The sole does not look too aggressive but performed well without too much slippage. I have not had them too long so I can't report on durability.

I use these light yet rugged shoes when I want to travel the miles on trails and want super ventilation. I would even consider them for light backpacking, because I feel so nimble in them I can make my way around boulders rather than needing impact protection of big boots. The ultralight backpacking crowd really goes for ventilated shoes like these, rather than Gore-tex linings because they dry much faster, believe it or not! Traction has been acceptable, though I have not tested their outer limits.
