“I was surprised how much I love these. My husband and I have 3 pairs of Lowa hiking boots for late fall thur early spring dayhiking with pack 10 lbs.max. on trails in the northeast. I have worn these every day I am not at work, for spring cleaning the yard (mud conditions) as a heavy rain boot for daily trips. I have put 2 coats of water proof conditioner and also put in my insoles made special for hiking (you cook the insoles in oven 2 min. and place them into boot and stand as directed so they take your arch shape) I would not do with out those. Since I am 55 and heavy boned, size 14-16 clothes, size 10 1/2 B width regular volume foot the size 11 reg. Lowa seems to do it for me. I found these to grip wet rocks very well also. The key if using on hard surfaces try the bakeable insole method .”
