If you like wooden clogs you'll hate these because they're more uncomfortable

Good choice when the day's efforts are uncertain as to terrain. Not a 'hiker', but ok for some light scrambling if necessary. Not a sneaker, but ok for a light trail run. Excellent 'shape-ability'. Lacing system allows the shoe to follow your foot without excess compression on the vamp of the foot. Inside padding calls for something other than an 'ultra-thin' sock. Dual layer Wright socks are a perfect match w/ this shoe. Single layer thin cyclist socks are too thin IMO.

I wanted a light weight trail shoe and these work great. I've been on some loose rocky trails and they also were adaquate for the task. However I think trail running and day hiking are what these shoes work best for. As stated order 1/2 size smaller than your regular size.

I bought these shoes for my extremely active husband, and he's very pleased. He usually wears a size 8 1/2, so I got him the size 9s as suggested, and they fit perfectly. He says, that they are very comfortable, and very lightweight...great for summer.
