The boots provided me with a soft compression all around my foot and ankle. They are very soft and very bulky due to their 3lb weight and insulation so not best for summer but I need a spring and fall boot for Michigan. These beat all the Asolo boots I have tried. After a long hike the soft wool inner liner can get compressed--I'm 200lbs-- and start to be a little hard but that could easily be rectified with a few personal adjustments; any boot can feel like that after miles and miles. I highly recommend this boot. It is not a Made In China model.
