“Doing practice canyon hikes to prepare for 4 major Idaho peaks in July. It took about two 4 mile hikes to break in. They are heavy, but very supportive and sturdy. They were a full size too big,but great service when I returned the 1/2 size smaller for the full size smaller. Haven't tested the gore-tex yet. I have a narrow, long foot and am using inserts and heavy weight socks even with the full size smaller.”
