Comfortable for all day use. Going to try them out for fire season and see how it goes. Besides the stiffness, one of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn.

I wear hiking boots most of the time because I have bad feet and they are the only thing with enough support. These are great - my feet just go "aaahhh" when I put them on. Very solid ankle support and great arch support. Excellent fit for me - I have somewhat narrow heels but wide feet. No rubbing, plenty of toe room, no problems at all from when I first put them on. They are stiff, but I like them that way; I need the support. I wear them as every day boots, can't speak for how they hold up to heavy duty hiking but they are taking daily wear well.

I used these boots for multiple-day, heavy backpacking. I'm a female (with wide feet) so bought men's shoes. Wore them at work a few weeks so I could get a feel for them before I went out. Not too bad getting used to, but if your feet are at all "out of the ordinary" please wear first to break in and find your "hot spots" as they are a heavy boot. Support was great, looks great.

Lowa boots are by far the best all around boots on the market. I have had a pair of banffs for over eight years and they are my everyday boots that are still going strong. The glove leather lining is remarkable, it hugs your foot and does not slip. Unfortunately the sacrifice for the leather lining is none gor-tex but with some nix-wax they do really well in wet conditions. Try a pair of Banffs and your wonder why there are any other boots on the market, top notch.

I ordered 1/2 size smaller than my street shoe size as recommended by many reviewers. The length is perfect that way but after a week of wearing them street walking , I noticed that my wider foot is pinching slightly on width at the big toe. I can have a boot fitter widen that area, no problem.otherwise I am very happy with the purchase, very well built, will give me years of excellent use and it was a great deal. [...]

I use them for hiking and hunting. Best built boot I have ever owned. I'm sure they will last a long long time.

I wore out my last heavy leather boots after 12 years of regular hiking and hunting use. These boots are by far a better shoe than those, so I am sure they will last. After wearing them inside for a week, I was confident they would fit great on the trail and they have so far. After only one short trail hike it is hard to comment fully, but they are well padded with a sweet leather liner. If your feet sweat a lot like mine, forget the Gore-tex and opt for these. The heel fits my narrow heel well and the toe box is very roomy. They are a tad longer than some 9 1/2 boots I have had, but that just adds to the comfort. No toe bashing on downhills in these! I would not recommend for very wide feet.
