“Surprisingly, little or NO arch support for the price. I also agree they need a break in period. Very good traction on rocky road & trail. Purchased mine at another retailer for half the price - so I bought 2 pairs. BIG mistake, absolutely NO bargain & NOT worth as much as I paid. Personally, I think there is a manufacturing flaw (defect) & that is why these shoes - the Ellypse Lo Trail Shoes are NO longer available from LOWA & have been discontinued. After a week of daily short hikes to break in; I went on a longer hike and in less than an hour I had painful blisters on the backs of both heels, which broke open and bled. I have NOT had a problem with blisters since the early 1980's when I wore cheaper shoes. It appears there are large creases with large indentions in the back of both pairs of shoes which I believe caused the blisters. This is my personal opinion as well as my personal experience.”
