The shoe looks great. My only complaint is they are about a half size too small. I usually wear a 10/10.5 with no problem. I ordered a 10.5 and find them very snug. I've concluded that without socks they will be OK. Great looking and well constructed. Just order a half size larger.

I said "feels too narrow" just to flag that some might feel it a little close in the toes. The heel is not too narrow; could even be a little tighter there. But I often have that trouble and am thankful to find anything leather lined that I can ge ta decent fit in.

Overall, I really like the shoes. It took me two days, one day wearing them inside and the second day wearing them outside and around town to decide the size doesn't work well for me. My feet, professionally measured, are just a shade over the size 10 line. Normally, if I buy a well sized 10 shoe, the shoes are snug but have enough room to be comfortable, (most shoes are sized to leave room in front of the toes). Personally, I like more room around my toes, so I often opt for a size 10.5; a half size larger also allows additional width for my wide feet. That established, a size 10.5 pair of these lowa's have my longest toe touching the tip of the shoe. On my left foot (the larger foot), my small toes also hit the front of the shoe. I believe the shoes will fit one of my son's who have slightly smaller feet so I am keeping these. Meanwhile, I am considering trying a size 11 pair.

I own several pairs of Lowa boots and shoes, all because Lowa makes great shoes with a wide toe box. Thus, I was disappointed when I had to return these shoes because they have a normal to narrow toe box and overall the shoe is a bit narrow (my feet are normal to wide). If you have wide feet and/or like Lowa's because your toes have wiggle room, then don't buy these boots. Otherwise the boots look like the Lowa's I love to run and climb in.

These hikers are very well made. They are supportive, but perhaps not as stable as I would want (more flex in sole than a high topped hiking boot). I returned my pair (although my wife kept hers) because they were just a little narrow for my wide feet. (I had hoped that they would be wide enough- Lowas tend to run wide). For light packs on normal trails I am sure these would be great.

This shoe isolates the foot from the terrain as well as any hiking boot I've worn, but without the weight of a hiking shoe. The foot bed is comfortable and holds the foot securely, At the ankle, the shoe gives support much like a high top. This shoe would be at home in the woods or even on rocky trails. It's too bad it didn't come in green.
