I am a birdwatcher who was looking for a lightweight waterproof shoe that I could wear for many hours at a time. But this handsome shoe fit so poorly that I returned two pairs. I am generally a standard size 7, but that was much too big. An even worse problem was the EXTREME heel slippage. Even at a 6.5 I felt I was wearing half a shoe, my heel coming out completely at every step. Do not buy this shoe!

I have always LOVED my Lowa shoes and boots. However, they have always runned bigger. I usually wear a 10 and with Lowa's I order 9.5, but with these shoes I think I could even wear a 9! I guess I'll have room for thick hiking socks. I don't feel slippage and they are comfy, so I'm going to stick with them.

I am a die hard Lowa person, however, the deal on these was too great to pass up. They have been named hiking shoe of the year and I can definately see why. They are FANTASTIC! So comfortable. My boyfriend bought the men's boot and loves his pair.

These shoes are my first Lowa's. The brand has a reputation for quality and an in-the-know mystique about it, but my experience with these shoes is that they are clunky, overly stiff, and tight at the base of the toes. I tried them in 2 sizes. The size that did not pinch my foot at the base of my toes were so loose in the heel that it was impossible to lace them tight enough to prevent them from slipping at every step. The size that minimized slipping in the heel were overly narrow at the base of my toes. I have long, slender feet so this is usually not a problem for me. Because they are so stiff, breaking them in seemed like a fool's errand, so I ended up returning both pairs.
