Lowa Seeker Gore-Tex® Hunting Boots - Waterproof (For Men)

This is the first Lowa product I've ever owned. I don't have a lot of time in these boots yet but I like them a lot so far. They're very comfortable right out of the box, have excellent support and look very well made. The construction details are good and the Gore-Tex lining keeps my feet dry, warm and comfortable. The tread is aggressive but they have a wide-set and fairly shallow pattern that doesn't clog up with mud or dirt on the trail. The speed lace lugs are substantial and don't look like they'll bend down to crimp the laces like some do. The exterior of the boots clean up easily which is a big plus for me. I got these for a winter/bad weather high-top hiker and general knock-around boot and they seem perfect for the job. I did notice the squeaking that some of the other reviewers complained about - it's there for sure. For my purposes it's not a big deal, but it might not be so great for stalking game. I would definitely recommend this product.

light weight backpacking / every day wear

It is a noisy boot out of the box. It is a leather squeak caused by the top lace. I tied it down 1 lace & that took care of squeak. I am not a fan of swede leather. I would put some toe protection , like a hiking boot has. I see this style has been discontinued. I should have bought 2 pairs.

First of all, I have narrow feet. These boots fit like moccasins. Unbelievably comfortable. They did squeak, prior to lacing correctly, at which point they are silent. They aren't likely to be incredibly durable, as they are light and soft. But, I haven't owned them long enough to know. They are nice looking and could be worn anywhere. The recommendations for care include scotch guard equivelent and frequent cleaning-I concur.

really nice boots except for extremely loud squeaking. I was hoping wearing them a bit would help. Wet and dirty they get quiet but only until they were dry again. Still on the fence as to whether or not to keep them. Don't think I can use them for big game hunting.

These boots are great except they are extremely noisy and squeaky. They are loud enough that they would alert game to your approach. I am surprised that Lowa has continued to produce this boot knowing the squeaking problem with them. Maybe that is why Lowa is discontining these boots. If squeaky boots are not a concern they are great but the noise eliminates their use for serious hunters and be ready for a squeak with every step.
