I bought these boots for hiking in Colorado and New Mexico. The break-in period was minimal. Very supportive to my ankles. Functional and cool looking at the same time.

Everything about this boot seems fantastic. I hiked after pulling them right out of the box, with no blisters, excellent support, great traction, etc.
My only complaint is that the ankle is so supportive, after walking a couple of miles, my ankles began to feel a little sore from the rubbing. I'm hoping this will ease once I break them in. Overall a fantastic quality boot for the price!

I bought these boots 3 days before I was to leave on a 5-day backpack. Breaking in included walking the dog, taking a short hike without a pack. The boots served me well in terrain that was harder than I expected. No blisters!

I did a lot of research for a good hiking boot as I have a long, narrow foot and Lowa was one of three recommended brands. I tried on quite a few Vasque styles at a local store and not only were they too wide (for me) but the 10s were too short. I went to the Lowa website which gives boot lengths in centimeters corresponding to a range of sizes. The chart confirmed that Lowa's 10 would be long enough for me. The reviewer in Silver Bay, MN also helped me with her comment about narrow heel cup - exactly what I need. These boots fit me like a dream, are rugged yet light with terrific arch and ankle support. Love them!
