Great pack that has so many options that it is a bit cluttered. A few less cords, zips, buckles, & it would be perfect.

I used this bag to carry everything I needed on a 9-day, 133 mile hike through Spain where I stayed in Hostels (Albergues). Since I didn't need a tent and cooking supplies, the size was perfect. Others that had a larger pack filled it with more gear - I could fill this one completely and it would never be too heavy! The fit was wonderful, and my movement never felt restricted. A lot of times when stopping to rest, I didn't even bother taking the pack off. At the end of the trip, some people were talking about how their boots became their best friend - I gave that title to my pack!

Several years ago I had a Lowe Alpine Day pack similar to this and I managed to misplace it during a move. I love Lowe Alpine products, they are always well thought out, functional, and reasonably light weight. This pack continues that tradition and has some nice added features. For example, the built in pack cover and the mesh suspension. For me this pack will be used for 3 season over night trips and for day hikes.

Right now I use the product for school. I will use it for day hikes this summer when I work at camp. I find it a good product and I can carry my books along with my hammock. I like that it has a built in cover for when it rains, I used to use a trash bag. I don't like the construction of the flap on top of the main compartment. It seems to slip down easily. But I like the bag, overall and it is comfortable.

As a backpacker and day hiker this pack fits my requirements for day hikes. The key factors for me are that it is adjustable, light, and comfortable. It also has a large enough capacity for carrying a range of clothing, meals, and other needs for back-country hikes.
