Lowe Alpine All Around Jacket - Waterproof, Insulated (For Women)

Glad I read reviews, the "visor" sewn into hood does make the collar "stand up", so I was prepared for it. However, it is good in a situation where you WANT to block wind around neck area. I was able to squash it down a bit more. It passed the test on a tiny sailboat on a windy, cloudy summer day. Fits well, good color and good quality. Good for rainy weather, (except winter when temps drop), provides some warmth as it's lined.

bought this for hiking in Washington on the islands, will be perfect lightweight but warm and will keep me dry

Purchased for my wife - who is very particular. She wanted a waterproof jacket that was also warm. This jacket fills the bill perfectly. The fit and color (dark purple) are flattering. A variety of inclement weather conditions should be handled nicely by this fine Lowe Alpine product.

Liked the looks of this jacket, the draw string gives it some shape and added wind protection. Very comfortable and lightweight. Reviews complained about the stiff collar, but I left the hood out and it's fine. First used to shovel snow, it was great!

Pretty good jacket...fits well and bought it because it is waterproof and insulated. The collar is a bit uncomfortable though, so the 3 stars.

This is a very nice jacket. I was hoping it would work. I'm petite so the shorter sleeves were fine for me. The collar was very uncomfortable due to the stiff visor on the hood. This would not be a bad thing when wearing the hood in inclement weather but not in the collar.

I really love this coat! Here in the rainy Pacific Northwest, it is misting and 50 degrees for many months out of the year. The lining is just the right amount for staying perfectly cozy. If the temp drops a little, I just wear a vest underneath. I saw some comments about the collar being too high, but I think it's great for keeping the wind out!

The collar is really large and uncomfortable when the hood is stored in it. When you just leave it out the collar is much more comfortable. Overall it is a great jacket for the price!

I purchased this for my wife who travels to Europe extensively. This particular one has a light insulated lining that doesn't add bulk, is easy to pack in a suitcase or a backpack, and most of all is waterproof (not water resistant - there is a huge difference as we found out just prior to making this purchase). For her it had to be functional and stylish and this one accomplished both on her recent trip to Paris that included one very rainy day.

Good value for a warm hiking/cold weather jacket. Sleeves are a bit short (works well for me since I am petite) and when you fold in the hood into the collar, it becomes very stiff and uncomfortable.
