“We had a pineapple express come through Flagstaff for about 6 days. Our hikes were steady drizzles that turned to snow at higher elevations. During a three hour hike, I stayed dry with my Lowe Alpine Crescent jacket. The hood fit comfortably over my running hat. I added a thicker wool layer to my thin NTS base layer for the descent to add insulation. After mostly wearing softshells, the fabric seamed a little stiff but having it waterproof makes up for it and I got used to the feel.”
