Lowe Alpine Crescent Jacket - Waterproof (For Women)

While this was a quality made jacket with all the bells, whistles and style, it was cut so strange I could see why it was on clearance. I tried it on in two different sizes - with and without sweaters underneath.. It was very strange.

We had a pineapple express come through Flagstaff for about 6 days. Our hikes were steady drizzles that turned to snow at higher elevations. During a three hour hike, I stayed dry with my Lowe Alpine Crescent jacket. The hood fit comfortably over my running hat. I added a thicker wool layer to my thin NTS base layer for the descent to add insulation. After mostly wearing softshells, the fabric seamed a little stiff but having it waterproof makes up for it and I got used to the feel.

I live in Minneapolis and I commute by bicycle, so I was looking for a waterproof and windproof jacket that I could wear a layer of wool under- this one is a winner. It's warm enough that I can even just wear under armor to about 20 degrees (and then I like the wool). The wrist velcro works great over mittens and there are plenty of pockets. Plus it's stylish and I've gotten lots of compliments. I like the light color so drivers can see me easily at night.

T'was a gift. Wife don it immediatley, was really pleased with garment's fit, feel, looks, and performance (it rained that day and went out for a walk, to try it).

The red is a "true" red - bright and bold - I love it! I wear a 6 on top, 4 on bottom, but have longer arms and broader shoulders so I opted for the medium. I also like to allow room for layers, so the medium is just perfect, tho some may prefer the smaller fit. The fabric is fantastic, looking forward to the winter. Pit zip is continuous with pocket - 2 zippers to allow for adjustment, pretty cool design.

I've only had a chance to test it out briefly so far, as it hasn't been raining much, but so far it's great and proves to be very waterproof. We have a big trip planned to Peru in December during the rainy season which is the main reason I bought the jacket, so hopefully it stands up to the challenge.

I love the jacket. It's lightweight, waterproof, great pit-zips - I heat up easily. The only down-side is that I'm almost 6ft, but of very slim build(I have the medium)...perhaps the sleeves are a wee too short for me. Versatile with good look. I'm really happy!

I ordered a large in this coat because in other coats, they were so slim fitting that when I ordered a medium (I am a small) I could not fit a fleece underneath. But in this coat, I really needed a medium.
