I ordered a small and it was way too loose and bulky. If you like an athletic fit don't buy this shirt. And, as another reviewer may have said, this is best for hiking or camping. The performance features--breathable mesh in the armpits--make it a little awkward for casual wear.

On the darker colors, the underarm venting shows at the back of the shoulder.

I purchased two of these shirts, one for my son and one for myself for use on backpacking trips. It has worked very well. It rolls up small and is light weight for carrying in a pack. It did a good job keeping me dry. The front pockets were large and positioned out of the way of the backpack straps so items didn't get crushed. I washed the shirt in a normal washer with other cloths and air dryed to clean it, no problems. After several uses so far the shirt is showing no signs of wear.

I like this shirt! The vertical chest pocket with zipper is quite useful and large enough to hold significant stuff. The shirt is fairly cool, packs in very little space, washes easily, and dries quickly. When I hand wash it, I squeeze the water out, wrap it in a towel and then stand on it, put it on a hanger, and its dry in 3-4 hrs. Negatives - the seams or the thread in them are a little tight producing some puckering of the seam. This is pretty common in a lightweight shirt. Overall, I like this shirt and I ordered two more! Oh yes, the care instructions are unusual, it says "wash separately, do not use detergent or fabric conditioners. Rinse thoroughly after wash." After the initial wash, now I just throw it in with my regular stuff and it seems fine. I don't use fabric conditioners.
