“Best wind piece ever!”

“I'm not usually a fan of Lowe Alpine (it's often over-priced compared to the competition) but OMG this shirt is AMAZING. I wore it on a hike up a mountain in sub-freezing gusty conditions and didn't feel a lick of wind even standing on the exposed summit. I could hear the wind, feel it rustling the material even, but it did not get through. The hood on this shirt fits snugly around your face, hugs your neck and covers your ears - so it's not hipster fashionable, but it is USEFUL if you're going to be in serious wind conditions and don't mind looking sorta like a neon-clad speed skater from the neck up. (If you're inclined to wear this more casually, you can wear the hood down or keep it looser by not zipping it all the way to your chin). This "shirt" is made of material designed to be able to be worn next to your skin as a baselayer, so having a full zip is unusual but not unheard of for a serious technical piece that can do double-duty as a shirt or jacket. The body of the shirt is tailored but not form-fitting, so it's not tight enough around the waist for me to wear it as a base layer in the cold. I wore it with a medium-weight Snow Angels shirt underneath, with this as the outer layer, and after I got hiking I was just as snug as a bug in a rug. Love it! One of my favorite STP buys ever, and a great price.”
