Lowe Alpine North Dome Jacket - Windstopper® (For Men)

Exactly what I need for cold, windy days in the mountains and around home in the city. The windstopper element also adds to the warmth of the jacket. Even though the sleeves are a little long, they are not uncomfortably long. Perfect!

the jacket i ordered was a xxl and was suppose to fit a 50 inch chest but felt like and undergarment it was so tight. the sleeves tapered to the wrist which made it difficult for me to get my hands in. i am 6'2" 275# and wear most outdoor clothing but this product line must be for extremely slim folks

Excellent wind protection in a lightweight jacket. Well made, with "lifetime" guarantee from Lowe Alpine. In contrast to a similar product from another company (which I have returned to Sierra Trading Post), the zippers work; it does not leak cold air, sizing is true (exceptional these days), and it looks good. I've found it ideal for a wide range of temperatures.

Warmer than it looks. Will keep you warm and dry with only a medium base layer underneath. My only complaint is the fleece of the right elbow is starting to wear and nap.

This jacket overall is very excellent. The fit is great. The paneling on the arms allows for very good movement. When I got the jacket, I was kind of surprised because I was expecting something a little thicker and more fleece-like, but it proved to insulate well. Honestly, it is unlike anything I have seen. It is considered a fleece but yet the material on the outside is more like a softshell. I even did the sink test and stuck my arm under the faucet to check water resistance. No matter how long it was under, the water just rolled off. I have a hardshell jacket that does not even boast this good of water resistance. I know it is a DWR coating, but most DWR coatings start soaking in water after a few minutes under the faucet. My only complaint is that I wish it had more insulation.

It's really really thin for fleece and pretty shiny. It might be good as a layer for serious lightweight-demanding through-hikers, but it's not that warm and it has all the style and feel of thermal underwear.

I live on the Southern Oregon Coast - wet, windy, moderate to cold temps. This jacket is very functional in this location.

I use this jacket on cold windy days to mtb and run in. It is the best cold weather workout jacket I've ever owned. I now own two of them because I use them so much in winter. I wish they were a little easier to wash (hand wash only).

Can't say enough good things about this jacket. I went running is 15 degree temps with 25 mph wind gusts and was toasty warm. All I had underneath was lightweight poly compression shirt. Great purchase. I only gave it 4 stars though because I feel it would be the perfect jacket if it had just a little underarm ventilation.

It's lightweight and wind resistant.
