Lowe Alpine Powder Line 22 Backpack

This is a great little daypack with a perfect balance of feature vs. simplicity. Our family did an 8-mile hike soon after receiving the Powderline 22 in the mail. It is well built and sturdy with strong zippers and over-sized toggles which really help. Although designed for snow-sports, I apprectiate it's versatility for all-season adventuring. I'm glad to see the Powderline divided internally for some organization and the exterior straps/loops/pockets assist in full utilization of the pack's capacity. I am truly looking forward to years of good use!

Very nice pack - especially for the price. I wish it had more pockets but the pack is made to load stuff onto and not into. Well made like all Lowa stuff. I think it will make a great snowshoe hauler in the winter time.

I actually am using the product for dual purposes. I work out daily so I use it to carry my gym equipment and will also use it for day hikes when I get one lined up. I really like the product. However, I am a little upset that it doesn't have one pocket in the front for easy access to immediate needs such as a cell phone, wallet or watch

I actually got this for bag for fishing because I wanted a secure bag because I hike through woods and such to get my fishing areas. I love the soft dry compartment at the top for my camera, the main compartment has three small separate compartments, it is not a big space but ok for a days fishing trip, I could get some food and drinks in there, a small case of lures, knife, pliers, and 2 field guides, and I had space left over. It will not fit big shoes or a lot of gear comfortably! The greatest thing about this bag is all the straps on the outside and loops. I use the two side straps in attach my 2 piece fishing rod. And I bough some one dollar metal clips and I attached those to the outside which I then attach wet shoes to dry while I walk, or my machete if I am going to the mountains where there is thick bushes and trees, and there are loads of other ways to be creative. I have no plans of using the hydration kit but it is there. I have only had it for a little while, but it seems sturdy, I know one day the clip on the chest is going to break from getting used a lot but the straps them self seem tough and the back padding is great. It is a fantastic pack for fishing trips, and small hikes. I think it would be ok for a day hike but I am not sure, it depends on what gear you need for the hike. Seems to be a decent day pack. I use for cycling to work etc and travel. It will carry a lot of stuff but I would prefer more internal pouches. It has two large ones. The lined glasses goggles pouch is a nice touch. The belt strap pouch will handle my cell but might be small for a Blackberry or i/phone/droid size phone. It's very light and well padded. I haven't tried it for skiing yet but I think it will excel in this role as this is it's primary function anyway.

I have taken this pack on a few brief hikes and skins and am have been pretty satisfied with its quality. Ski straps on the pack are innovative and easy to use howver not great for skis 176 and larger. Load becomes top heavy or if skis are flipped over can rub against your legs while on on flatter ground. Probably easily resolved using an a-frame. Runs a little small around shoulders. Overall, pretty nice pack, good quality, feels like it will last.

Great pack! Wish it was a little bigger.... with a CamelBak in it there isn't a ton of room for other stuff. They fail to mention that it has a ski support system. Way comfortable! feels like there's nothing on your back. Stays right on you! Awesome buy!
