Exactly as described. Rugged, waterproof, breathable. Very comfortable and easy to use with side zippers all the way down each leg. No insulation at all, making them extremely adaptable by adding 1 or more (or no) layers to suit the temperature.

I got these for biking in the rain and snow. They look fairly cool (for hard shell ski pants) and let my knees bend freely, which was a concern of mine. They are nice and cozy and light and wind and waterproof!

I bought these for snowshoeing because of the gaiter feature. I haven't snowshoed in them yet, but I shoveled myself out of a pretty hefty snowstorm while wearing them. Not one bit of snow got through the ankle gaiter! These pants fit beautifully. Layered with long underwear bottoms they kept me totally dry and warm. The side zipping means easy on and off. GREAT PRICE!

These pants were definitely not sized correctly. They fit very small in the waist. I simply could not get over the amount of noise they make when you walk. They were much stiffer than I had expected and I returned them because I would not be able to deal with the crinkly weird sounds they made when I walked. I like it to be quiet in the woods when I hike or snowshoe. Maybe for downhill skiing it wouldn't matter as much.

Unfortunately these were very high waisted - well above my belly button and way too short. I am 5'5" and average build. These looked like Steve Erkel pants and boy were they noisy! Returned promptly.
