I opted for O.D. green version. I love it, I just wish it had M.O.L.L.E. attachments. I couldn't pass it up, STP had it on sale, [$] Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase, and I recommend this pack.

I am not a backpacker or a hiker, but I do travel and hunt often. This seems like a good quality, middle of the road backpack. There are lots of straps and tie downs on this pack that are a little beyond my skill level. A good set of instructions would have been nice, but a more experienced person probably knows what all these straps do and would not need instructions. The only drawback I saw to this item is that there is a single, large, main compartment that would need to be completely unloaded to get at anything in the bottom.

Seems to be very well made and should perform fine for any reasonable load. Inside of all three compartments is coated with a waterproof materiel, but this doesn't mean it actually is. Very few things can be made truly waterpoof, and thats likely why no such claims of this are made in the description. Still a nice surprise I wasn't expecting. True, no MOLLE points, but I don't plan on adding any capacity. It is plenty big enough to haul all I'm capable of carrying. The construction is first rate, it should last for years. A truly great piece for the price! Thanks STP, you've never let me down!

A great pack for long day hikes or weekends. Adding the side pockets increases capability and versatility. At the price there is not a better military style pack around. Internal pocket for a hydration bladder is another plus. Thank you to Sierra Trading Post for another winner.
