I got this in a beautiful vibrant purple and I love the color. It's really a little heavier and bulkier than ideal for my usage (packable travel rain jacket), but I loved the color so much I kept it anyway. The material is a little loud and whoosie, but nothing obnoxious. Sleeves are on the longish side, but with a velcro strap to keep them from falling down too far so you can wear a backpack, ride bike, and sleeves still cover your arms. Great quality technical rain jacket.

I can't accurately rate this product in action as I only used it to walk my dog twice the first day it arrived. It was chilly out and it kept me warm. Pros: I liked the soft lining around my neck and chin, I felt very stylish and my dog agreed, I really love the saffron color, there were adequate pockets and ventilation, all the zippers were protected with flaps with velcro, and it seemed very wind and rain resistant. Cons: Its length went right to my hip line, and I have wide hips, and it was too tight there. It fit well elsewhere so I'm concerned a larger size might swallow me up. The Goretex is noisy which I expect would quiet down with use, and the velcro is so strong it was hard to get it zipped up without the flaps getting in the way, another thing that I bet would improve with some use.

I am very curvy - broad shoulders, big chest, small waist, wide hips - and I am not sure this jacket is a good fit for me. I ordered the M and it was too big almost all around to wear alone. I really don't consider myself a "small" (5'4", 129#), but I am exchanging the M for an S. It might have been good as a winter shell with thick layers underneath, but as summer raincoat it was too roomy for me. The fit is boxy. I found it surprisingly roomy in the chest and back (hard for me), the fit was just right in the hips. Swimming around the middle. But I LOVE the color (green), love the weight, love the features, so hoping I the Small works and that I can live with the boxy look for the sake of utilitarianism.

Bought this jacket mainly for protection from rain and this is another Lowe Alpine quality garment. I got the medium to allow for layering in winter and the size is perfect on that basis (i'm a US 6). I was hoping it would be a bit lighter but happy with the purchase as it feels more durable than paclite gortex. Looks good enough to wear down the street when not out hiking.

Have received many compliments on the color and syle. I wear it walking, casual biking, shopping, etc. Can fit a fleece under it without binding. What are the black tabs on the velcro straps at the wrists? I am used to the fabric swishing sound, but my husband finds it annoying.

I've been shopping around for an affordable, durable raincoat for a long time, and the Lowe Alpine Venture was a PERFECT fit for me. I love the styling (it's a little longer in the back than in the front) and the color (I got the true red and it really POPS!) It has a soft collar and the hood isn't pointy in the back :-) I wear mine everywhere!

Needed rain/wind jacket to handle all that Maine's coast can dish. I find it warm, keeps me dry, windproof, great hood; doesn't constrict movement. I would certainly recommend this jacket. One minor problem with the gripper tabs that tighten the cuffs; they catch on the velcro here and there and also on the mesh pocket interiors. I plan to file off the roughness. It's not necessary an a bit of a bother, but I still LOVE this jacket.
