Customs, Tariffs & Duties

The customer is responsible for all extra delivery charges, Duties, Taxes, Customs Fees and any other fees that may be required when importing products into their country. Sierra Trading Post order totals do not include Duties, Taxes, Fees or VAT, etc. associated with international orders. Contact your local customs office for more information.

Shipping Offers and Exclusions

Sierra Trading Post occasionally offers free shipping through keycodes, banners or DealFlyer offers. Unfortunately, these free shipping deals cannot be applied to international orders. Sierra trading post cannot ship some of our oversized items internationally such as: canoes, kayaks, bikes and large pieces of furniture.

Other oversized items that can be shipped internationally may carry a charge for additional shipping because of the size or weight of the item. These items have messaging on the product page, under the product features, to notify customers that the item must ship separate from the rest of their order and will require additional shipping costs. Oversized orders will be charged shipping fees consistent with the true cost of shipping the order, regardless of order total.

For customers in countries we do not ship to that would like to place an order with us, call 011-307-775-8000 to ask about your ordering options or download the International Order Form and fax to 011-307-775-8088. Most packages are shipped via UPS Worldwide Express except for packages going to Japan which are shipped via the U.S. Postal Service. Some rural areas may be shipped via the U.S. Postal Service.

Exchanging an item outside the U.S.:

To Request an Exchange, use one of these three options:

• Fill out the Exchange form on the back of your invoice
• Request an exchange via 24/7 Live Chat
• Email CustomerService@SierraTradingPost.com

Quantities can be very limited due to the nature of the overstock, 2nds and closeouts business. We recommend you order the item you want to exchange now instead of waiting for your return to be processed to best ensure you get the item you want. Waiting until your return processes is not recommended

All international exchange orders will be charged a shipping fee consistent with the order amount being exchanged.

Returning an item outside the U.S.:

The return policy follows these two guidelines for reimbursement.

• Products returned within six (6) months of the order date will be refunded by original payment method
• Products returned six (6) months or more after the order date will be refunded by merchandise credit

Use the shipping method of your choice -- we recommend you use a service that offers tracking -- and send the item back to us with a copy of your invoice you received with the item you are returning. To expedite the process, always provide your customer number or order number.

If you have misplaced the invoice, please include a note with your full billing address, order number or customer number so that we can issue a reimbursement or exchange.

Currency Conversion

In May of 2011, Sierra Trading Post added a currency conversion tool for our international customers. This feature converts the prices of all of our items into 60 currencies. Our currency conversion feature is for the customers' reference only. Customers are still charged in USD. Final price does not include taxes, fees, duties or tariffs.

We've had requests to provide our international customers with an estimated total of duties and fees at checkout. Keep checking our website for more information on this upcoming feature to make your shopping experience easier!

Language Translation via Google Translate

To improve our international shopping experience, Sierra Trading Post added language translation through Google Translate. We realize that Google Translate is not a substitute for the quality of a native translation. However, by implementing Google Translate, instead of using an expensive translation service, we keep our costs down so we can continue to offer our customers great deals every day. Google Translate allows us to translate into several languages at once and reach more of our growing international customer base.

Forwarding Services and Shipping Service Recommendations

More international shipping and forwarding services are available every day. Some offer great discounts on international shipping, while others have great customer service and bundling options. If you are using or plan to use an international forwarding service we urge you to do your research to make sure the forwarding company has good customer reviews and a positive rating with the US Better Business Bureau. We will track your shipments to forwarding companies, but please remember that from the forwarding company's warehouse to its final destination, Sierra Trading Post will not be responsible for the package and will not be tracking it.

International Shipping Rates

We believe in offering huge everyday savings (even after shipping & handling fees), plus best-of-class service. All companies incur shipping costs and frequently inflate the prices on their merchandise in order to cover costs of free or discounted shipping prices. We prefer a more straightforward approach. Our prices reflect the great deals we've negotiated. The costs of shipping, handling, duties or fees are not incorporated into the advertised cost of our products.

In order to remain competitive with shipping rates in the industry, we must adjust them from time to time. As a result, our margins can remain low, and our commitment to huge everyday savings, great deals and discounts can remain the same.

How to get the most value out of shipping cost

The tables below provide price guidelines for shipping standard-sized items by country. To get the most value for the price of shipping your order, please reference the tables below before check out. The closer your order total is to the top value of a price range, the better value you will receive in shipping. For example, if the order total in your cart is $59, it is at the top of the 0-$60 price range for your country. If you keep this simple step in mind, you will save money and get the most value for the price of shipping your merchandise.

Oversize orders

Extra shipping charges for oversize items and oversized orders are based upon the true cost of shipping, regardless of the order total.

Prices and payment is in U.S. Dollars. Exchange rates are automatically calculated on your credit card bill.

Ship-Alone Items

The Ship-Alone designation applies to pre-packed items or items too large/oddly shaped to fit in a standard box.

Regardless of discounts or offers applied to your order, additional shipping costs or true shipping costs may apply to Ship-Alone items.

International Restrictions

Regardless of brand, there are some items that we cannot ship internationally such as knives, air rifles, gun scopes and exotic leathers.

Why some brands are restricted internationally:

Occasionally a vendor requests that we not ship their brand internationally and we must honor their wishes, though we prefer not to limit the brands we sell. We continually review restrictions with our vendors to see if any changes can be made.

We clearly mark products that have international restrictions on each product page as “International Restrictions Apply” in the product features information. We also include alert messages at checkout like the one below to clearly identify when an item in your cart is restricted from shipping to your country.

If you put a restricted item in your cart, you will not be able to check out until that item is removed
