Reviewed by natfibers from Sacramento, CA on Tuesday, November 15, 2011I ordered this for my 2 1/2 year old. Since I didn't have a measuring tape, I just went ahead and ordered the size medium. She can wear it although it's a bit too big, but I'm going to keep it for her to grow into. If it helps anyone, her head's in the 80th percentile for kids her age :) The only con is the real rabbit fur. I'm not looking forward to getting this professionally cleaned. The inside of the hat is NOT fur lined, which is fine by me.

Answer To measure the circumference of the head to the nearest 1/8 of an inch is to measure across the widest part of the head, above the eyebrows and ears. Children's hats are sized as follows: M: 19 1/8" - 19.5" is 6 1/8 - 6.25. L: 20"-20.25" is 6 3/8 - 6.5. XL is 20.75" - 21.5" and is 6 5/8 - 6.75. I Hope this helps.
