These shoes are fantastic! I have climbed on the Mad Rock Phoenix since I started climbing a few years back and I loved them. I got the Tricksters on the advice of a friend of mine since he knows that I love bouldering and I LOVE them. The velcro straps make it great for bouldering and short climbs and then you can take them off easy and walk around and rest your feet. I was worried about the fit with velcro but they still fit good 'n' tight, even without laces. They do size about a half size small.

Very nice shoe to start off climbing with. I've been climbing indoors through the winter, using rentals and these are a big time upgrade. I've been climbing outdoors with them and have used them for four days now and haven't had a route turn me away yet. I have way more confidence on small foot holds which has made vast improvements in my climbing already. DON'T LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO SAY THESE ARE WAY TO SMALL! Buy half size and curl your toes a bit, that's how climbing shoes perform their best...CHEERS!

Sizing on these shoes have nothing to do with reality or any kind of conventions. I am a man shoe size regular 9, EUR 42 or 27 cm. I ordered size 9. Box says size 9, 27 cm. Actual measurement is 24.3 cm! I exchanged them for 11.5 (yes, eleven and a half!) and could not put them on! I exchanged again for 12 (the largest they had in stock). These I can put on. They are VERY tight in length. They feel like regular men's size 8! It says EUR 46 on them! This is ridiculous! Don't buy these unless you want to exchange multiple times to guess correct fit.

seemed like a good shoe for slab type climbs, don't think it has the bite necessary for overhanging routes. the heel is narrow but the toe box was too wide for my relatively narrow foot.

I bought these as a cheap pair of comfortable shoes for long trad days. They are comfortable but I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe the rubber has a long breaking in process but I've had these on 8 pitches already and the rubber smears poorly as well as the edging is inadequate to grip any small toe holds. If you are thinking of getting these as a first shoe I would recommend looking elsewhere as these are sure to be a confidence crusher and to develop poor technique for a new climber. I will continue to use them on long easy trad days where comfort is key but that's about it.
