    I originally thought the buttons were decorative, but it turns out the buttons hold the skirt together. This is fine, except there can be "gaps" between buttons which may make some people uncomfortable. I also had a button low on my leg pop off the first day when getting out of the car, so you need to be cautious, since they aren't super secure. Nevertheless, it looks nice, and I got a number of compliments. Great for work during the winter with a pair of boots.
