Bought these for my wife for Alpine skiing. They are between a lightweight and midweight ski pant, fine by themselves above 20F/-7C, below that you'll want to add a layer (a sheer, lightweight wicking layer would be adequate down to around 0F, with incrementally heavier layers below that). She is 5'10", 165 lbs with a long torso and typically wears dress size 12-14, I got her size 44 in these pants and they are nearly perfect, maybe the inseam is just slightly on the long side (by 1/2 - 1"). They have room for another layer without being baggy, and they are very flattering to her curves. An expedition weight base layer yields a very snug fit. She looks great in them, very stylish. She loves them!

I am 5'8" and normally wear a size 8 pants so I ordered the size 38. They fit like a glove and I wanted to be able to wear a base layer under them for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. I exchanged them for a size 40 and they meet my needs much better. They are a little big but not baggy and I prefer a roomier fit for those activities. They are beautifully made with lots of zippered pockets. The stretch is just right - not binding at all. It's not winter yet but I look forward to trying them on some cool-weather hikes soon.

Good pants for mountain gear, durable and comfortable, but not warm enough for winter sport, need another layer to stay warm.

After spending 8 days on a canadian Glacier, I had to order a second pair. Not because they wore out but that I LOVE these pants! 12degrees and blowing blizzard on the Glacier and I was comfortable (as long as I did not stand around, but who is in a blizzard) I have warn them without long janes for skate skiing and am looking forward to climbing in them this spring! Waist fits where is is supposed to! Stretch panels in the inner thigh, knee and seat makes for full movement. WOW!

I had to go up a size. I have some other Mammut pants that are size smaller.

Great for hiking - not warm enough for downhill skiing in cold weather

Love these. They are mid-weight, so need a baselayer in cold weather. They are dryskin extreme, but a lighter version. Fit is great for me. I've very glad I got them. Worth the price.

needed to return the first pair. got a size larger and it fit well. Except it is too long and has no ankle zippers. Good thing that I can sew - I will be making a few alterations. Adding ankle zippers and hemming them and they will be the perfect mountaineering and climbing pants.
