Reviewed by yep from Denver, CO on Tuesday, July 24, 2012Very nice lightweight pants. Soft thin material, I like fleece insulation. Plenty of pockets and all the features that skiing pants should have. The scuff guards seem to be a little on the light side. Runs large, I am 5'8'', 175lb and usually wear 33-34. Size 34 was not wearable, way too big. Reordered in size 32.

Reviewed by Downhill from Evanston, IL on Sunday, January 1, 2012I have been a Patagonia Guide pants fan for many years for my ski (and occasional board) adventures. Just got back from a week of downhill skiing in Colorado with the Dobson pants and I think they are now my Go-To ski pants. Wonderful fit and adjustment in the waist for different base-layering situations. (More versatile than my beloved Patagonia Guide pants, I think.) Plenty of zippered pockets for secure storage---but the pockets are low-profile. Nice contemporary loose fit through the legs, but not a total "Boarder Dude" fashion unless you order up a size larger, IMO.
Ankle/Edge protection at the cuffs is not as thick and ballistic as on my other pants, but I think the protection will hold up pretty well. If not, it would be fairly easy to have a tailor add additional balletic cloth protection.
This is my first Mammut product...but I am impressed!
- Best Uses: Back bowl skiing, BOARDING, Front-side skiing
- Cons: Limited color selection
- Pros: Adjustable Waist Fit, Low profile pockets, Quality, Thoughtful design
Reviewed by HoliPatrol Scott from Buffalo New York on Sunday, August 7, 2011I bought a pair of these in March for my annual trip to Utah. I skied in them every day for 8 days in deep powder, backcountry, sleet, wind and heavy snow. I never got cold or wet. 5 days after I returned, I went to Killington where it absolutely poured the first day there. My Arc'Teryx jacket combined with these pants kept me bone dry and warm. Later on that day, the rain turned over to snow. The pants did not freeze up or collect moisture. I loved these pants so much I bought another pair in a different color (honey and cyan now). These are stylish pants that offer bomber protection. Arc'Teryx pants aren't so much of the prior category, certainly not the ones I own. BUY THESE PANTS.
- Best Uses: Alpine telemark skiing
- Cons: none
- Pros: Draw lots of compliments, Great Styling, Waterproof, Well-Constructed
