Mammut Illimani Jacket - Waterproof, DRYtech® (For Women)

I had the Mammut "Superior" Jacket a few years ago, which was quite possibly the best product ever made. I bought this Illimani because it is made from the same amazing material, and I'm happy with it - waterproof, breathable, stretchy and a soft finish on the inside (not the rubbery stuff that is so popular these days in other jackets, but then just peels off). I did prefer the look of the Superior jacket (simple tasteful design, slightly looser fit - Mammut, if you read this, bring back the Superior jacket), but from a purely practical point of view, this is a great jacket.

The jacket is great,espescially the hood!. First hood that does not restrict your view. Great fit too.Bought a size m for my mum which was fine but a bit short over the hips. She is a size 10 -12 and for layering large would have been better. Anyway she loves it and did not want to return it.

Nice trim fit. Great zippers. Hood fits real well. Blocks the wind very well. Great Spring/Fall jacket for walking along the ocean.

I bought the Dark Olive with the delicate detailing, and I love this jacket. I bought it for skiing, but it's not warm, you have to layer. I would have bought another size up for skiing in order to layer if I knew how lightweight it is. It's high quality, and a great fit for casual wear.

Really like the jacket. Fits nice and is stylish. So far just wearing it over a soft shell in 30 degree winter weather. It is so light weight and comfortable. Haven't tested it against the harsh elements but i really like the fit and color. The euro style zipper is a bit hard to get used to, but not a problem.

This is an awesome jacket. Good for year round use. Not too heavy or too light. I'm using it for skiing right now, and only in that circumstance do I wish I'd gotten the medium instead of the small. ( I usually wear a small) It can fit a few layers underneath, but I like to bundle sometimes and then it feels a little tight. I like the stretchy yet waterproof fabric- effective and comfortable. All in all, I'm very psyched with this product.

Beautiful shell, but very technical. Great pockets, fantastic hood...if you wear a helmet. Very weatherproof.

I just received my Illimani jackets in XS and S. My measurements are 34"-25"-36" (chest-waist-hips) – US size 4 and Eur 36. If I were to wear this jacket with a thick fleece pullover or a thick wool sweater (like Dale of Norway), size XS fits me better. If I were to wear it with a down jacket underneath or more layering, size S is more suitable and I still end up with some extra room in the hip area. Hood with the adjustments seems to be practical. The fabric is nice, just a tat thicker and it has elasticity/stretch. The manufacturer recommends this jacket for backpacking, Alpinism, ice climbing, mountain hiking, winter hiking, snowshoeing and Alpine skiing. Colour: I ordered "leaf" but the actual colour looks very different from the photo on the web site; it is darker, more intense and it is a warm green leaning into yellow tones. I took a picture – see the attachment. It's a very well made jacket (just not exactly what I want).
