    I am medium build (170, 5'11") and appreciate clothes that let me move constraint free. This jacket allows that type of movement. It's ideal for skiing, not sure I'd wear it out on the town - all the same.

    Will be perfect for cold/snowy at the top - wet/rainy at the base conditions. Schoeller nano-sphere is an amazing fabric... slightly stretchy, and beads water like a duck. Look at nano-sphere.ch for the story. Regardless of how long the waterproofing may last, the jacket is an amazing value for the price. My coat delivered with some dirt smudges - I followed MFG cleaning instructions... gone - perfect. I was expecting the jacket color Frost to be white, or slightly off white, but it is light grey - a huge relief since I was worried about keeping it clean. I purchased a Large - the fit is perfect. I'm a slender 6'1" with monkey arms. The sleaves are just right. Cuff gaiters with thumbholes, goggle chamois, and removable powder skirt are a bonus.

    Mammut always makes a great product, and this again fits the bill for their usual quality garment. The hood/neck zip is definitely made for taking on some face shots in the pow, but I have worn the jacket casually in the Jackson Hole fall rain lately. I have yet to test this thing to its full potential, but just from wearing it for about a week straight i can tell its not going to have any problems. Its athletically cut, but still just enough room to layer up on really cold days. They "hard shell" areas that are on the chest/sleeves/waist don't fell like a cheap, crunchy hardshell, they are the schoeller hard shell and feel more like a soft shell, but no question about their "water-proofness", the softshell mid section is really breathable and pretty water resistant with the nano-sphere tech. Bottom line, this thing is 100% functional tech. that will do the job in the back country and around town on a crumby day!
