Mammut Outline Jacket (For Women)

I got both a large and a medium size to try because I thought I would love this jacket. The green color was great, but the fit is awful. Both sizes were very small and thin in the hips, and I returned both. If you have very small hips and wide shoulders you may like this fit.

only tried it on inside so far. the true test will come with some outside wear. hoping it stands up to my expectations, because it's very comfortable and stylish looking on.

Mammut sizing is touchy. I got the small, I'm 5'8" & 125 pounds, and it fits perfect. The sleeves are nice and long too. (However, in other Mammut products, I am usually a Medium.) This jacket is better as a "used" piece (vs. fashion) because the fabric pulls easily. I've used this coat for climbing 3 times and it has some pulls already. The jacket has a nice feel and moves well with activity.

In the picture, the jacket looks warmer and the material looks thicker. I was disappointed to find that the material is thin and delicate. I returned it.

Because I live in Australia, I usually buy a batch of clothing all at once to make the postage ($47) worthwhile! This was the highest priced item in the batch and if I was in the US I would have returned it. The "Fit" category above does not give you the option of too small in body, too big in sleeves! High quality materials and well made, but very trim fit over hips, yet loose sleeves that are about 3 inches too long. To take them up as far as I would like to, I would need to turn under the M of Mammut on the sleeve! (Maybe you like them long to keep your hands warm over there, but this is only a light weight jacket, not winter weight.) Looks quite nice if left open, otherwise looks a bit odd being tight in body and loose in sleeves. If you are big in the bust/ a bit overweight and have relatively slim hips this may work for you!
