4.0 out of 5 stars. Very nice but runs BIG

I just received the Sunridge jacket by Mammut in size S (as in small in European and small in American, and medium in Asian). This jacket runs big, really big. The powder skirt measures 99 cm, that’s 39 inches! Of course, myself being size small and measuring 35 inches in hips, I cannot use this jacket – it’s way too big even with a padded down shell underneath (BTW, I had none of these sizing problems with Mammut’s Adamello jacket I got last year). This Sunridge fit me too large everywhere else as well. The other aspects: fabric, design, and color (graphite gray) seem to be really nice but, of course, I have not tested this jacket outdoors to know how it performs. Then, it’s Mammut – it should handle the outdoors beautifully. Just gauge it right when ordering to get it in your right size.

About Mammut

Mammut is a Swiss-based producer of high-quality mountaineering, climbing and trekking equipment. The company’s history actually dates back to the mid-1800’s, beginning with a single rope maker named Kaspar Tanner. By the 1940’s, the brand had officially adopted the mammoth logo and name. Originally specializing in Mammut ropes, the well-known alpine gear company eventually grew its product line to include mountaineering boots, crampons, harnesses and hardware. By the 1990’s, the product selection had grown even further to include Mammut jackets, pants, sleeping bags, Mammut packs and a host of other premium-quality essentials for the outdoor enthusiast.
