Mammut Talc Capri Pants - ¾-Length (For Women)

I ordered a few pairs of these pants in taupe colour in size 36 (US 4) and they fit great in hips (36"). Thanks to the hidden inside the waist Velcro, I'm able to adjust them to fit my 24.5" waist (this could have looked somewhat better). The draw cord cinch at the hem should be practical if I choose to temporarily "shorten" the Capri. The location of pockets and the fact that they have zips is great. The fabric is thin and I noticed already that it wrinkles; I don't know if it's breathable. The taupe colour is nice and should be practical as well. The pants seem to be comfortable; I haven't put them through the test yet but plan on wearing them while hiking the Channel Islands soon.

The size was confusing. I ordered a 38 which your chart said was a 6. When I received them they were too big and the tag said EU/D=38 but a USA=8. They fit me like they were a true USA 8. What gives?

You can tell the good quality by the deep pockets, flattering zippers, and just good all around design. I found my first pair at a hiking store. So I jumped at the opportunity to buy another pair and an even better price.

After giving these pants a few tries, I ordered more of them – they are simply GREAT, very comfortable yet great looking. From my earlier review, they are true to size (I wear size 36 for 36" hips). My favourite colour is taupe (it looks slightly different than in the picture) but I also went for brown. I use these pants so frequently now in a warmer weather; they are great for casual purposes, not just hiking. For casual purposes, I wear them often with a vest (things by Faconnable or Bogner, etc.) to soften up the hiking/outdoorsy look. Further, I bought similar style of pants by Mammut for my husband – it's a very new type of pants for him – and he loves them too!

Where do I begin? I just returned from a full year of traveling in Central and South America. I had one pair of pants, one pair of capris (these), two pairs of shorts, and a skirt. These capris saw A LOT of wear. They were the absolute BEST for long bus rides and then long jaunts through villages wearing a backpack and looking for a place to stay. They looked stylish yet they didn't scream "She's got Money" at the same time. The pockets are many and are very, very secure and in all the right places. These capris are comfortable to hike in, they look great with sandals and no socks or with ankle socks and hikers. I can't say enough about these. I don't have a single stain or rip or tear on these capris and I wore them HARD anywhere from 3 to 5 days per week for a year. There is a neat adjustment system wherein you can tighten them whenever you drop weight due to parasites or lack of vegetarian food in the middle of a small mountain village. These were worn on beaches, in rain forests, and in every day conditions. They are of the highest quality and I very highly recommend them.
