Reviewed by RxDx from Michigan on Monday, July 29, 2013I broke my ankle two years ago, and I have to change boots/shoes often to keep the irritation under control. These boots give adequate ankle support and are nicely padded. I can wear them for extended periods. They have become my go-to footwear for physical labor. Haven't hiked in them yet, but suspect they will work nicely
Reviewed by pnyhkr from Oak Harbor, WA on Friday, July 19, 2013Nice boots but unfortunately i had to return mine. As I was breakin them in (at work) the side stitching came loose. I dont think this boots will survive strenuous hikes in the long run. I replaced it with Hanwag Saponi - high quality European made boots.
Reviewed by gearguru88 from Albuquerque on Saturday, July 13, 2013I give this product 4 instead of 5 as I have just received them and I am still in the process of breaking them in. The slipped on just like Raichle's of the past and the size (ordering one-half size larger as instructed) seems to be correct. They are pretty much as I had hoped for and time will tell if the garner a 5.
Reviewed by gearguru88 from Albuquerque on Thursday, July 11, 2013I have worn Raichle boots for 40+ years and was thrilled that Mammut brought the company and their technology back home to keep it alive.
This pair was actually listed as US sizing but was UK sizing when received. I had checked with on-line chat before ordering, and they assured me that it was US sizing. The following day a smaller size was listed and I ordered that one....just in case. The second pair was US sizing and fit true to previous Raichle boots. I am still deciding if I should keep the first pair as a winter boot as heavier socks seem to compensate for the larger size.
As usual, I was able to put the boots on right out of the box and wear them for six hours on the first day of break-in. So far, so good.
