    I did not find that these sat 1" below the waist as stated. I have a thicker waist relative to my hips and these were too tight in the waist, even with the bit of elastic give. They would be good for someone with a smaller waist.

    I have had a Mammut 3X dry shell for 5 years (purchased from STP). It wears like iron, washes up well and still looks new. I use it for hikes when temps are in the '30's, often with wind and light precip. I also have REI brand Schoeller fabric pants and find them to be outstanding. I am told that REI has substituted another fabric in current versions, so that is why I got the Mammuts. Love the added protection at the seat and knees. Top quality product in every way.

    My wife is small but big in the chest so a medium fit perfect. The jacket does run a little small but that is how it is designed. It is form fitting and looks great on. Very warm. Fleece lining is awesome. Zipper pulls for pockets are pretty small. They would be difficult to open with gloves. Great jacket.

    Great pant. Runs small as most European clothing does. Order a size larger than you usually do and you'll get a perfect fit. I'm 5'7" 106 lbs and the 36 was just right.

    I actually sent this back as it was a little snug around the hips for me. The next size up wasn't available or I would have ordered it. Jacket would have been super for winter sports, light and warm. The sleeves were long, which I love, but could be a little long for some folks. I wish folks would put two way zippers in these light jackets. For hippy gals, it makes the difference between functional and no go.

    This jacket does it ALL! Very warm, much more so than it looks and feels. Very lightweight. I have used for hiking, snowshoeing and plan to use to cross country skiing, biking and running. I bought the purple one and love the color. Some of the reviews said the jacket ran small but I found it to be true to size.

    Picked this up on a trade-up tuesday special. Love this jacket, the purple color is fabulous....would love it in a hoodless version as well (for running a hood gets in the way). It DOES run small. I ordered a medium (my normal size) and a large. the medium fits better, but its an athletic fit (not room for heavy layers). Still deciding on which to keep (or both?). The sleeves are short considering the thumb loops, but as I have short arms it works perfectly for me :)
