At 25 my son is very particular and has nothing but good things to report about this lighter weight yet warm coat/jacket. Warm just enough for Colorado cold outside at freezing with layers beneath. Thoughtful warm & zippered pockets, at 6' tall, thin build wide shoulders, L length just enough for sitting on a cold surface, zippered chest & neck lining looks quite stylish. Inside is a quilt lining which is warm, but probably not for all day unless active and layered. Removeable hood is not fleece lined and although substantial enough to stand, acts like a funnel for wind (not so good). Otherwise, the outer shell keeps out wind, rain where it counts. Easy enough to sew in a washable lining for this hood. In the meantime bought him a fleece bacalava as a substitute. Handsome coat, he tells me he has received compliments and enjoys wearing it. Yep, recommend!

I ordered a large for my husband and the fit was good - length and across the shoulders. Plenty of room for a medium weight sweater underneath. It's appearance is dressy casual and he was buying to where to the office and on business trips. But, what he didn't like was the shiny, stiff material/fabric of the outer shell and the shiny buttons and zipper pulls. So back it went.

I have other Marc New York products, and I like them all. The styling is non-trendy but also not fuddy-duddy, and the quality is very good. This coat serves its purpose well as a daily coat for non-Arctic weather. I also have a Marc NY down coat with very similar styling, and I use that for the colder weather. Mine are in black, which is not a very exciting color, but it seems that black is the new black.
