The cuff is not elastic but just plain thin knit. The picture is not showing it correctly. So there is no way to hold it up if your arm is shorter the sleeve. -

My son is in college in Moscow, ID and always cold. This coat is warm enough. The wrist bands were an immediate hit. The Faux-fur inner collar is optional, but so comfortable that he doesn't want to take it off (even as he doesn't like the look of it).
