Marc New York by Andrew Marc Neptune Mid-Length Coat - Shearling (For Men)

As soon as I put on this coat, I knew that despite being intimidated by the price I'd keep it. Soft, supple, but robust leather with a short-clipped, silky shearling lining... but much lighter to lift and wear than I'd expected. When zipped up, the coat surrounds me from the tops of my thighs to my chin, but it's been tailored so I can lift or move my arms, walk, sit, stand as I want... without feeling constricted. [To the reviewer who complained she couldn't get the collar to act right: perhaps yours was damaged in shipment, but this is a funnel-neck design, and the collar is supposed to stand up. Very handy when the cold wind blows. :)] Lastly, I am 6' tall, weigh 220lbs, more or less athletically built... and the XL fits me perfectly. The coat's roomy enough for me that I can wear both a t-shirt and sweater underneath it. Were I to gain 15-20lbs, I can see how the coat, particularly when zipped up, might fit my shoulders and chest comfortably... but probably would be uncomfortably tight-fitting at the bottom.

Product returned because size ran small. Coat was beautiful.

Could use more pockets and flare out to the bottom more for sitting convenience, or double ended zipper

This is a daily commute coat to walk across downtown in Manhattan. It is warm and comfortable. Exactly what I was looking for to keep out the wind.

I bought this coat with very high expectations. I mean the retail was supposed to be something like $1,350.00!! What I got was an ok deal for the STP price, but not a steal by any stretch of the imaginiation. The collar just will not lay down, no matter how hard you try. The joining of the sections between the collar and the body are just plain bad. On the plus side, the shearling feels great, and I won't have to worry about that "ring" around the collar that I always get from long term wearing of brown leather. Overall not quite the value that I usually receive from STP, but I guess I am a little spoiled :)

Beautiful coat with high quality shearling.It is fitted like a car coat-cover the bum. The zipper is only single direction. There is no flap in the back of the coat. Since there is no flap and since you can not unzip the bottom of the zipper, the coat rolls up to your waist and kind of bunches up when you sit or ride in a car. Beautiful coat for walking in. The coat is a bit awkward to sit in. I am 6ft 1in and 195 lbs.

NOT made in China! Fit was perfect. Nicely made. Feels warm, but not heavy. Only negative is that the styling is a bit sparse and plain - doesn't show off the shearling nature that well.

I was thrilled to find this high quality shearling coat at such a great price. However, I elected to return it for two main reasons. The length was not good for me (6' 0"), it was too long. The zipper was too low in the coat for my comfort. It fit my 6' 7" son very well. The collar did not seem to lay right and was a little deformed from the way it was packed.

I bought this jacket for Christmas for my fiance'...he absolutely loves it...I just recommend everyone who buys it to also purchase a leather protective spray. You want a jacket this beautiful to last you forever and with the right protection it will! Stunning!
