I recently received this as a gift. Let me say first it is extremely portable, which for living and fishing in Alaska is absolutely a must have. I have already caught a few Silver and King salmon plus Char and a Dolly varden. Can not say enough about this rod !!

This is compact enough to drop in your carry on and tough enough for some distance casting and salt water use. I take mine to Aruba every year it is a 9 weight. It will put a fly out 80' and accurately. The flex is medium and it is strong. March Brown has a pedigree heritage of engineering out of MIT. Salt water is not a problem with the seat or guides. It strips smoothly as it also feeds smoothly. Good cork and heavy duty carrying case.

This is a fabulous, hand crafted rod, in a beautiful carrying case, with the look of a really fine quality rod. I use this for powerful casting in wide rivers or sometimes in saltwater from the shore, and allows me to really control the line/pile. I paired this up with a great Lamson 9wt reel, and have been having a lot of fun with this rod since the day I got it. The price is also unbeatable.
