I use this rod fly fishing for bass, on Lake Sinclair, with a Lamson ULA Force LT Reel 7/8 wt,3X. They mate well, and allow for good casting, with control, good setting, and can land large fish on the rod and reel.

Used it with sinking lines, heavy flies, fast water and everything else you could throw with it. Still sensitive enough to detect a light bite and stiff enough land a big fish.

The rod is very nicely finished and has great action. The longer length should make long casts easier. The one cap on the rod tube has come loose, however, with the money I saved on this product I can easily afford some epoxy to rectify this minor problem.

Received the Fly rod 6WT and was very surprised when taking out of the package that the rod tube fell apart on both ends. They just came right off the tube section. After inspecting the rod I noticed that the alignment dots for the individual rod sections did not line up to each other. This is supposed to be a high-end rod? Not very well made. Not comparable to other rods I own which cost less even at their retail price! Surprisingly disappointed.

    Describe Yourself:

I've used this rod on 2 day trips now. It has already jumped up to my favorite rod in performance and convenience. I primarily fish mountain lakes and prefer a stiffer, fast-acting rod to cast flies out further. It has better casting action than my 4-piece TFO TiCr and 4-piece Loomis Rio Santo. The fact that it is so compact is the biggest benefit. You can easily hide this rod in your pack, or carry it with your spin-rod inside your spin-rod tube. Well worth the purchase for my intended uses. I probably should have bought two of them just to be safe, but they are sold out for now.

This rod was so poorly constructed that a reel could not be seated. The space for the reel was poorly machined, had burs and was not fully cut out. I notified customer service and march Brown about the problem. I don't know how it got past quality control. I have a 4wt March Brown that seems ok.

This is well made, good looking rod which I bought for travel, since it will easily fit in my bag. It functions well as a very fast 6 wt. rod, but I think it will be better if used with a 7 weight line or for throwing streamers with sink tip lines.
